Learners FAQ

How long will my NVQ take?
NVQs take between 6-9 months for a Level 2 and 9-12 months for a level 3. But don’t worry if you think that’s a lot of extra work we only ask to see you for 1-2 hours every 4 weeks or so and you will be ‘earning while you’re learning!’If you are doing an Apprenticeship these are a little longer at 12-15 months for Level 2 and 18-24 months at Level 3
What do I have to do?
You will have to gather information from your everyday work and discuss with your Assessor.
Will there be homework?
There will be some work for you to do between visits but this won’t be anything outside of your normally work as these qualifications are about your work. You may be asked to gather information about your company and things like that.
What is the point?
You ‘earn while you learn’ and get a qualification to boast about! This qualification is yours forever.
What if I leave my job?
If you leave your job we can follow you to your new job if your new employer agrees.
What if I want to give up half way?
Hopefully this won’t happen because you be getting on so well with your qualification as your are in your job, but if for any reason you do want to give up you can get a certificate to show the units you have completed.
What if I don’t like my Assessor?
This is rare as all our Assessors are supportive, but in the unlikely event you don’t (after all we are human) you can contact your Internal Verifier (who is someone who works for Phoenix4Training and monitors Assessors work) and they will help find a solution for you, you can find the details of your Internal Verifier in your Portfolio or contact us for help.
